Leaving California

Road trip time! So we flew to Dallas last month for a house hunting trip. We found a great one in Rockwall which is right outside Dallas. It's separated by a lake. Ooh pretty!

A year and a half in California and the one day it chooses to rain is the day we pack up to move. LOL I love it! Have I mentioned I love rain? Just checking. Before we left we stayed in a hotel in San Juan Capistrano for a few days.

We chose to take the road south so we could drive through Tucson Arizona and New Mexico. We wanted to stop in Alamogordo to see a few things that we miss like walking on white sands and eating fresh homemade tortillas from the local restaurant. Oh and of course we must get a bag of pistachios.

We went through El Paso, another city we frequented while living in NM, and saw some things we missed. We stopped somewhere in between El Paso and Dallas for rest.

Now we're in a hotel in Dallas for a few weeks until the people who sold us their house move out. This room is crazy tiny and there's nothing nearby. I can't wait to get our new life started. We're already saving a lot of money because our mortgage is $600 less than our rent was. WOOHOO!

front again

You can see photos of our house with the last residents stuff in it here.

Did you see the closet? My goodness it's big enough to be an office.
