Back to Germany!

Eric left for Germany January 29th. How nice that his company pays for this stuff. I am currently attending classes at NMSU so I will be flying out Feb 9th. I'm in a strange town, in our new house, all alone and with no license! What a strange predicament. I have to take a cab to school which is really only a few miles away. I'll have to take one to the airport in El Paso. I hope it's not too expensive. I don't care and I can't wait.

February 9th-19th

Eric picked me up at the Frankfurt airport. Oh how I missed this place! It's different because work got him a rental car and we're used to trains and trams. The hotel is super cute. We have to walk across a little street to get to the lobby where we can check our email and stuff. I've never used a German keyboard before. WOW so confusing! So we're staying in Landstuhl. I spent a lot of time here because it's the biggest hospital. It's where the soldiers from down range come. So of course I came for ankle treatment, as well as making a few pick-up items for other things. But I've never seen the town. It's so tiny and cute and covered in snow! Less than a block away is a Doner Kebap place. HOORAY! It's Turkish/German food and not on a stick. I've seen it spelled a dozen different ways but Doner Kebap is the most common. I missed it so much I got 2 for myself.

I mostly just sat around while Eric does the work thing. We HAD to go back to St. Goar. Stephan remembered us naturally. I mean I am named after his most famous wine. Ok not exactly. We went to the castle while we were there. It changed a bit. They closed off some of our favorite parts, closed our restaurant and added a new hotel on top. Construction sucks sometimes. We were still happy to be there.

We also had to go back to Mainz to walk our old path and visit our old shops. Then of course, go by the old site and stop for some Rahmschnitzel. I wish I knew how they made it. Darn secret ingredients.

It was a very lovely trip. I am happy to have gone back to our first home as a couple.

Sadly, all my photos from 2005-2006 are all missing.
