Perot Science Museum

It was a good trip to the Perot Science Museum. We watched "Wildest Weather in the Solar System" and Earth was not on it. Come to think of it, neither was Pluto. I guess dwarf planets aren't good enough. Rude. The first two planets are too hot to survive. One smells like farts, according to my husband, because the air is made up of nitrogen which turns into methane gas and something else for it's weather, and it rains liquid methane. Actually I think that was Titan; Saturn's big moon. Either way... stinky! None of them would be possible to live on, but I guarantee there's some engineers out there working on a way to excavate diamonds off of Neptune. The same way it rains methane on Titan is the same way it rains diamonds on Neptune. Charcoal is in the clouds. The movie made the rain looks so pretty! But ouch painful. I missed a lot of the movie because some lady decided she wanted to sit behind and have a full conversation with her 2 year old. A loud one.

We went into this room explaining color spectrum. They had these huge RGB dials that lit up the whole room based on the colors you made. I told Eric "I'm going to make seafoam!" bloop done. He goes "Nerd. You knew right where to put those dials." Then people's heads turned toward me and I blushed and walked away. The seafoam light made the room pretty and calm, so whatever! :)

This building is huge. Ok, only 4 floors, but the escalator up was by a window looking out and my vertigo was not having it! By the way, vertigo does not = fear of heights. I thought I would fall I got so spinny. Eric was kind enough to take photos on the way up and again at the top while I was gripping a pole for dear life. I haven't looked at them yet though.

Dinosaurs... I love them! I'm a huge fan of the cold-blooded creatures. There were huge turtle fossils hanging from the ceiling. We couldn't get good pictures. That was my fault. I brought the wrong lens. Eric had to stand way back to get any decent shots. Eric also loves dino's. I have a deck of cards from when I was a kid, he has the exact same deck. Crazy right?

Another favorite of mine is rocks. I had a collection once. Don't know what happened to them all. My mom took a geology class once and it was so fascinating. The museum had three rooms of beautiful rocks/minerals. I mean gorgeous! And me with my stupid lens couldn't capture any of the beautiful detail. So we decided we'll come back and try again.
